About You Can Play Music

You Can Play Music was originally founded in 2015 by award-winning musicians Erica and Evan Whetter, before being passed on to passionate multi-instrumentalists Sami Gabel-Daw and Katina Rignanese.

We believe music is a powerful way to connect people, and we’re dedicated to fostering a welcoming community where students can reach their goals and share their passion for music. Plus, our Band Program and jam sessions are a great way for our students to experience music as performers and artists!

Our Mount Barker studio is wheelchair-accessible and offers spacious rooms which allows parents to sit in on lessons if they choose. We offer a wide range of instruments all in one location so you're free to explore different instruments and choose what's right for you. Lessons are typically 1 on 1 but we do offer group lessons for some instruments. We also provide guitar set-ups and string changes.

Band Program

Our annual Band Program is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their hard work and to experience what it's like to play in a band. Students are divided into groups and rehearse a short set of songs. They work on these songs during their one-on-one lessons with their teachers, and together with their band mates during group rehearsals. Finally, they perform as a band on stage in front of their friends and family!
